We asked, you delivered!
In the span of a few months, we went from business as usual to an unprecedented world-wide lockdown. The monotony of spending time indoors as the world comes to a halt is a curse that has taken a toll on the vast majority of us, but the curse that has been afflicting the vast many would be a blessing for those in the healthcare industry. These workers have not only been unable to shelter in place, they also have to go to the front lines in order to help quell the very plague that is threatening to afflict us all.
It takes a special type of hero to be able to do that day in and day out while seeing the rest of the world have the privilege of getting to sit idle. In recognition of these heroes, we decided to start a fund to feed the workers who are helping to feed the cure to this disease. In the past six weeks we were able to raise $3000 dollars with a equal match to total $6000 and do a total of five hot meal donations to Valley Medical Center, and Stanford Medical center thanks to these donors.
We can’t do enough to thank our front line workers but this gesture is a small way of showing them we care and acknowledge their compassion and perseverance to do their work despite the difficulties facing them. I want to say thank you for being a part of that gesture, I will not forget it and neither will the nurses and doctors we were able to bring a moment of light to. Here are some pictures of the delivery and food preparation.
We were so succesful in our fundraising that we decided to create a new non-profit organization that is expanding its service window you can click here to find out more details.
Thank You to Our Frontline Healthcare Workers
COVID-19 has resounding impacts on our community that extend even beyond its immediate health risks. In order to help support the social and financial well-being of community members, local businesses, and healthcare workers, our non-profit is fundraising money to cater delivery of meals from local restaurants to the employees of Bay Area hospitals.
Though we may not be able to solve the PPE shortage, let’s help in any other way that we can! The challenges introduced by this pandemic are unprecedented, yet our collaboration as a community could give back to those bearing the burden of its immediate consequences.
Please consider donating an amount with which you feel comfortable to help! All donations are greatly appreciated and will be directed in whole to the businesses providing food services for these hospitals!
Hope you’re all staying safe and healthy during this time.
